In this role you will be involved in providing technical support to deliver services such as drilling and sampling reviews, QAQC analysis, geological modelling and resource estimates, due diligence reviews, preliminary assessments, pre-feasibility, and feasibility studies.The role will include providing technical support to the development and completion of a wide range of projects within the Mine Engineering & Stability (Africa) group, including the below Technical, Management and Cultural responsibilities.Key Responsibilities:Fulfil Project Management roles as required to meet the demands of the business and project workload. Carry out Project Management in accordance with internal WSP requirements:Track and monitor budget and project scheduleImplement robust Project ControlsPlay an active role in Pursuit & Bid ManagementContribute to Business Development, including market and client research, and strategic opportunity and lead identificationMeet with prospective clients in South Africa, Africa and overseasPrepare and Peer Review proposalsPresent bid presentations / pitches as part of tender submissionsContribute to marketing and brand awareness requirements, through social media and technical communities through the writing and publication of informal or academic articles and/or papersAttend networking events, conferences, and seminarsDevelop and maintain relationships with a broad client baseEncourage and actively promote cross-selling of WSP servicesConduct site based geological fieldwork in Africa and overseas to deliver projects to our Clients, promoting and presenting WSP in a professional manner at all times in line with our code of conduct and professional expectations associated with your rolePrepare and assess geological models, based on the collection, collation, and interpretation of geological information, using software such as Datamine, and/or LeapfrogCarry out technical reviews and due diligence of natural resources in an auditable and justifiable manner, applying appropriate care and diligence in line with recognized best practiceLead and support in the management and coordination of Mineral / Ore Resource estimation and reportingPrepare technical reports in line with WSPs internal and recognised industry standards and format (e.g. SAMREC, JORC reports, NI 43-101 reports)Undertake Resource estimation in accordance with international reporting codes and guidelinesInput into mining geology, geometallurgy, grade control, reconciliation, and sampling studiesWork collaboratively with the technical disciplines to troubleshoot, resolve project-related issues and liaise with the client as neededQualificationsBachelor of Science (hons) in geology, an MSc will be advantageous.At least 8 years post-graduate experience, with at least 3 years experience consulting experience (preferably conducting geological modelling and estimation)Professional registration with SACNASPAdditional InformationWhat's in it for you?What if we can have work-life balance?
