They are responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and bartenders, to provide exceptional customer service and maintain a positive dining experience for our guests. The Restaurant Floor Manager must possess strong leadership skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a deep understanding of restaurant operations.Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the front-of-house team to provide top-notch customer service.Train, supervise, and evaluate staff, providing constructive feedback and performance reviews.Maintain a positive work environment by fostering teamwork and effective communication.Customer Service:Ensure a high level of guest satisfaction by addressing customer concerns and inquiries.Monitor service quality, including food presentation and overall dining experience.Handle guest complaints or issues in a professional and efficient manner.Scheduling and Staffing:Create and manage employee schedules to meet business needs while controlling labor costs.Coordinate staffing levels based on reservations and expected business volume.Collaborate with the General Manager and kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations.Training and Development:Conduct training sessions for new employees to ensure they understand restaurant policies and procedures.Provide ongoing training to improve staff performance, product knowledge, and service standards.Inventory and Supplies:Monitor and manage inventory of restaurant supplies, such as glassware, flatware, and linens.Place orders for supplies and ensure their proper storage and distribution.Quality Control:Enforce health and safety standards to maintain a clean and safe dining environment.Conduct regular inspections to ensure that all equipment and facilities are in working order.Financial Management:Assist in managing the restaurant's budget, including controlling food and beverage costs.Monitor sales and labor costs and make adjustments as necessary.Marketing and Promotion:Collaborate with the marketing team to implement promotions and marketing initiatives.Encourage upselling and suggestive selling techniques among staff.Qualifications:Proven experience as a restaurant manager or in a similar role.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.Excellent problem-solving abilities.Exceptional customer service skills.Knowledge of restaurant operations, including POS systems.Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.Food safety and alcohol service certification is a plus.Education:A high school diploma is required, and a bachelor's degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.Salary is negotiable based on Experience.Please, we do in person interview at the restaurant below is the address:10th Jarvis St, Green Point, Cape TownJob Types: Full-time, LearnershipPay: From R15 000,00 per monthAbility to commute/relocate:Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Experience:Restaurant management: 2 years (Preferred)
