General Restaurant Manager for busy evening restaurant

Position Overview:
As the General Restaurant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant's front-of-house team. You'll be responsible for ensuring an exceptional guest experience by leading and managing the front-of-house staff, coordinating service activities, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Your leadership, organizational skills, and commitment to excellence will contribute directly to our restaurant's success and reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience:
Ensure a high standard of guest satisfaction by addressing concerns, providing solutions, and maintaining a positive, professional atmosphere throughout the dining experience.
Team Leadership:
Supervise, motivate, and lead front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, and bartenders, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure a cohesive and efficient team.
Scheduling & Staffing:
Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak times, while maintaining labor cost control.
Operations Management:
Oversee front-of-house operations, including managing table turnover, guest seating, and reservation systems to ensure smooth service flow.
Communication:
Maintain clear communication with kitchen staff, management, and the front-of-house team to ensure timely and accurate service.
Quality Control:
Monitor food quality, presentation, and service standards to ensure consistency and adherence to brand standards.
Problem Resolution:
Handle guest complaints and issues professionally, resolving conflicts quickly and effectively to ensure guest satisfaction.
Training & Development:
Lead training sessions for new hires and ongoing training for the team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
Financial Oversight:
Assist with managing daily sales, cash handling, and tracking inventory in collaboration with the management team.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in restaurant management, preferably in a front-of-house role.
Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive guest experience.
Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
Knowledge of restaurant operations, POS systems, and scheduling software, google drive, excel
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Own transport
HR background vital
Preferred Skills:
Previous experience in fine dining or upscale hospitality.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet.
A deep understanding of restaurant trends and customer service best practices.
