Job Description

INVITATION TO SERVE AS A COMMITTEE MEMBER AT THE OFFICE OF THE VALUER-GENERAL (OVG).



The Office of the Valuer-General (OVG) was established through the Property Valuation Act No. 17 of 2014 (PVA), which became effective from the 1st of August 2015. During the 2017/18 financial year, the OVG was listed, by the Minister of Finance, as a schedule 3(A) Public Entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act.



To strengthen its current oversight committee structures, the Office of the Valuer-General (OVG) invites applications from interested persons who are suitably qualified to serve on the Risk Management Committee:


for a period of three (3) years





The expertise sought are in the fields of Compliance Management.




Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:


LLB or any NQF level 8 qualification in Law Admitted as an attorney or advocate A professionally certified in Compliance Management will be an added advantage. 10 years Senior Managerial experience in a functional Compliance Management role




Only applicants meeting the minimum requirements listed above per role should apply. Knowledge of the OVG Act, PFMA, Treasury Regulations and other public sector legislation is required. Applicants with previous oversight committee experience will receive preference.



Attributes: Successful applicants will be required to commit to and display the following attributes: Understanding of Public Sector environment and its operations; an understanding of OVG's mandate as well as knowledge of its functions; Integrity; Professionalism; Dedication; Independent Judgement; and good Communication skills.



Responsibilities: Successful applicants will be required to exercise their oversight mandate towards the OVG through the effective execution of responsibilities as outlined in Public Sector Risk Management Framework and the approved Risk Management Committee Charter.


Remuneration is paid in line with SAICA'S AGSA rates guidelines.
