Job Summary

Hire Resolve's client is currently seeking a Safety Manager with experience in the mining industry to join their team in Gauteng. As a Safety Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and implementing effective safety programs. You will work closely with the mining team to identify and mitigate any safety risks. This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact and contribute to the success of our organization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies
• Carry a 2.17.4 legal appointment as per the MHSA (Safety Manager)
• Guide implementation of systems, processes and tools for the management of H&S as identified
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits
• Develop and implement safety programs and initiatives
• Provide safety training and education to employees
• Investigate and report any safety incidents or accidents
• Identify safety risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
• Collaborate with management to develop and enforce safety goals

Requirements

• Relevant qualifications in Health & Safety
• Drivers Licence
• Coal industry experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Safety Manager, preferably in the mining industry
• In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and compliance procedures
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software
