Job Title: Safety Manager - Mining IndustryLocation: KwaZulu-Natal, South AfricaRPO Recruitment's client is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join their team in the mining industry in KwaZulu-Natal. The Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for employees. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of health and safety regulations in the mining industry and be able to implement and monitor safety programs effectively.Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with industry regulations
• Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks
• Train employees on safety protocols and procedures
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
• Maintain safety records and reports for regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety awareness
• Stay informed of industry trends and developments in safety practices

Requirements:

• Degree in Natural Sciences/Safety / Environment or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a mining sector within SHEQ is required.
• A minimum MDP or alternate Business Management Qualification
• Legal competency in one or more of the specialists SHEQ areas with generalist knowledge of others
• Leadership in a form of team management is crucial.
• Strong knowledge of mining safety regulations and best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
