Our client in the Construction/Plumbing industry is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Officer to join their team in Ballito. As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of employees, contractors, and visitors on construction and plumbing sites.Job Title: Safety OfficerLocation: Ballito, KwaZulu-NatalJob Type: Full-timeMinimum Qualifications:

• SACPCMP (South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions) certification
• 2-3 years of experience in construction and plumbing safety
• Valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle
• Strong understanding of safety legislation, regulations, and standards
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety management systems Conduct regular site audits and inspections to identify potential hazards
• Manage and maintain accurate safety files and records - Provide training and guidance on safety procedures and protocols
• Conduct investigations into incidents and accidents
• Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and regulations
• Clear understanding of safety files and prepping of safety files per job site
• Firm understanding of audits per site
• Must be able to run and manage a team, address issues as they arise and manage PPE
