Job Title: Safety OfficerLocation: Construction SiteJob Summary:We are seeking a dedicated Safety Officer with a SAMTRAC certification to oversee safety compliance and risk management on a construction project. The Safety Officer will be responsible for conducting risk audits, creating project construction reports, and conducting regular site visits to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.Key Responsibilities:- Conduct regular site visits to inspect for potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Create and maintain detailed project construction reports, documenting safety measures and incidents
- Conduct risk audits to identify and address potential safety issues
- Implement and monitor safety protocols and procedures to mitigate risks
- Train and educate staff on safety procedures and best practices
- Investigate and report on safety incidents and near misses
- Collaborate with project managers and contractors to address safety concerns and implement improvementsQualifications:- SAMTRAC certification or equivalent in occupational health and safety
- Proven experience as a Safety Officer in a construction or industrial setting
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and audits
