Job Description
RPO Recruitment is currently representing a leading mining company in the Northern Cape, who is seeking a skilled Safety Officer to join their team. As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment in the mining industry.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards
- Implement and maintain safety management systems and procedures
- Monitor and enforce adherence to safety protocols and regulations
- Investigate incidents and accidents, and provide detailed reports
- Deliver safety training programs and conduct toolbox talks
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
- Diploma in Safety Management
- Trade Test Certificate
- OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System
- COMSOC 1 & 2 or SAMTRAC
- 5 years' experience as a Safety Officer in the Mining Industry
- Knowledge of relevant safety laws and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
- Salary: Negotiable
