We are currently hiring a Safety Officer for a fixed-term contract at Atlantis, Ankerlig.

Position overview

Safety Inspections & Compliance:

Conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections, ensure safety procedures are followed, and enforce corrective actions for violations.

Incident Management:

Investigate safety complaints, ensure incidents are reported, determine root causes, and oversee corrective actions.

HSE Training & Support:

Conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and employee inductions while providing guidance to project teams.

Regulatory Compliance:

Stay updated on safety legislation, assist in safety audits (e.g., ISO 45001), and maintain compliance with company and legal requirements.

Worksite Presence & Oversight:

Provide visible HSE support at workshops and project sites, mentor staff, and ensure safety boards are up to date.

General HSE Administration:

Maintain documentation, assist in safety program implementation, and fulfill additional HSE-related duties as needed.

Profile

Knowledge / Qualifications / Experience

Registered as SACPCMP

Minimum 3-year health and safety field experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. The ability to demonstrate the application of risk assessment to company operations and activities. Medical fit and in good physical condition. Availability to travel. Occupational Health and Safety Diploma or Certificate e.g. SAMTRAC / Nebosh.
