The Candidates need to be registered with SACPCMP as CHSO/M.
At least 4 - 5 years experience
Hi/Her own transport.
Relevant OHS Certifications e.g. Fall Protection Plan developer, Risk Assessor, Incident Investigator will be advantageous.
Duties for Safety OfficerYour duties will be as follow but not limited to:- Ensure compliance with Company safety regulations and adherence to safety standards, including safety induction and training with Contractors. - Assess safety files of contractors in accordance with OHS Act and relevant Regulations. - Assist contractors in submitting their SHE files and getting them approved. - Keep Management up to date and informed about legislative requirements regarding health and safety requirements. - Review and update Emergency Procedures, Health and Safety Plans, Risk assessments and fall protection Plans when necessary. - Conduct weekly site Inspections by identifying and minimizing the risk to company and employees. - Identify unsafe acts, conditions and hazards investigate root causes and identify corrective and preventative actions. - Conduct workplace Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (DSTIs, Pre-Job Brief, RAMS) with supervisors and Constructive managers. - Compile and submit monthly health and safety related topics and safety related reports (KPIs, Manhours, LTI) - Liaise as and when required i.e. regarding Sec 24 incidents. - Liaise with Department of Labor with submissions of Notification of Construction works (Annexure 2) and Construction Work Permits prior works commence. - Update Management system and log Safety related documents on SharePoint daily. - Provide Internal Training for employees on safe work and operating procedures. - Book medicals for new and annual employees and update surveillance tracker accordingly. - Maintain all safety related trackers and update on SharePoint. - Support and guide site supervision in their duties and ensuring full compliance to task hazard and work assessments.
