The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting customers in selecting products, processing sales transactions, maintaining product knowledge, and ensuring excellent customer service. The role involves both counter sales and consultative selling, requiring an individual who can provide expert advice on our range of timber, fencing, decking, and garden products.Key Responsibilities:1. Sales & Customer ServiceAssist walk-in customers by understanding their needs and recommending suitable products.Provide expert advice on timber, poles, fencing, decking, garden furniture, and related products.Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system.Handle customer inquiries, quotations, and follow-ups to convert leads into sales.Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.2. Product Knowledge & ConsultationMaintain up-to-date knowledge of product specifications, features, and applications.Educate customers on product benefits, treatment options, and maintenance requirements.Offer customized solutions for garden and outdoor projects, including jungle gyms and rustic furniture.3. Stock Management & MerchandisingMonitor stock levels and communicate shortages or reorder requirements to management.Ensure products are correctly priced, labeled, and displayed attractively in the showroom.Assist in receiving and organizing stock as needed.4. Sales Administration & ReportingPrepare quotations, invoices, and delivery notes accurately.Maintain customer records and update sales reports regularly.Coordinate with the logistics team to schedule deliveries and ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time.5. Relationship Building & Business DevelopmentBuild and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.Identify potential business opportunities and upsell additional products where applicable.Liaise with contractors, landscapers, and garden centers to promote products.Requirements:Proven experience in counter sales / retail sales / sales consulting, preferably in timber, hardware, or outdoor furniture industries.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to provide excellent customer service and handle inquiries professionally.Basic knowledge of wood, fencing, decking, and outdoor products is an advantage.Good numerical skills for handling transactions and quotations.Computer literacy (POS systems, Microsoft Office, or similar software).Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.A proactive and results-driven attitude
