An exciting, and vibrant company that sells disposable Vape Devices, that specializes in FMCG Tobacco alternative products. Listed with various retail outlets throughout South Africa and expanding rapidly is looking for a dedicated and professional Sales & Operations Manager to join their team. They are a Company that bases itself on three main values, simplicity, value and most importantly that there is a better alternative to smoking traditional cigarettes. This role manages key support functions for inland sales, optimizing the customer experience. Responsibilities include strategic sales planning, forecasting, analytics, process optimization, and sales program design. Acting as a strategic partner to the Sales team, ensuring a data-driven environment that aligns with the company's strategy.
Minimum Requirements:
BCom Business Administration or a relevant field (Masters degree would be an advantage)
Understanding of the tobacco/vaping industry environment and business needs
7-10 years of commercial leadership experience, specializing in transformative change
5 years minimum in B2B sales
Knowledge of FMCG operations and a national chain store network
Experienced in sales operations, business planning, and sales support management
Strong understanding of business strategy, evidenced by executing programs aligned with current industry and technology
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence across all organizational levels
Proven success in internal team influence and forging exceptional external relationships
Strong strategic capabilities, forward-thinking, strategically agile, innovative, and comfortable with ambiguity
Operational team management and leadership skills
Collaboration and professional interaction skills
Relationship-building skills with knowledge of the clients environment
Analytical approach with attention to detail for decision-making based on information/statistics
Understanding of the local sales environment and challenges facing the sales force
Ability to identify trends and areas for improvement
Thorough understanding of solution selling concepts and sales process design
Demonstrable experience in a similar role within a related environment
Operational management of a sales operations/effectiveness team
Experience dealing with stakeholders to influence sales
Previous demonstrable experience in sales operations/effectiveness management
Strategic and operational planning experience
Experience with process engineering and management
Duties and Responsibilities:
Redesign sales operational processes and practices to optimize performance and accelerate growth efforts
Oversee the design and implementation of the organizations CRM technology platform, including converting existing platforms and process redesign
Lead a change management process to build organizational understanding of proposed changes, gain support from key leadership stakeholders, and implement new deployment and job models
Work closely with senior sales leadership to define key metrics for success, establish the correct KPIs for tracking and reporting performance, and develop the Insights & Analytical toolset
Align reporting, training, and incentive programs with performance management priorities
Ensure sales reports and other internal intelligence are provided to the sales organization, developing new reporting tools as needed
Coordinate with sales leadership and stakeholders to lead efficient and accurate sales force reporting initiatives
Proactively lead conversations and drive improvements with customer feedback, industry benchmarks, and productivity metrics
Assist the sales team in defining market approaches and achieving set targets through effective sales processes, tools, and training
Act as a mentor/coach and advisor, delivering consistent and valuable training interventions for continuous improvement and revenue growth
Provide sales tools and methodologies for managing account opportunities, pipelines, and forecasting efforts
Plan and organize work outputs, assigning priorities and reviewing objectives continuously
Improve sales performance through evolving processes, technology, and methodologies
Act as a change agent for sales initiatives by executing enabling activities
Identify and develop improvements to current processes and methods
Provide knowledge and skills for successful customer business outcomes
Work with smaller sales teams, providing operational management, onboarding, training, and coaching
Track sales metrics, manage accuracy, and provide related reporting
Provide sales process management support to sales teams
Ensure the delivery of marketing and sales collateral and commercial messaging
Work with internal stakeholders and benchmark external data to assist with the development of compensation plans
Ensure enablement technology continues to provide value, regularly reviewing and auditing the technology stack
