Job Summary Join a Leading Premium Alcohol Distributor as an On-Trade Sales Manager! Are you passionate about premium alcohol brands and skilled in sales strategy implementation? Our client, a reputable distributor of premium alcohol brands, is currently looking for a dynamic Sales Manager to join their team. Based at their Durban Sales Office you will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the company's sales strategy in the On-trade/ On-Con space. The Key KPA's for this role include (but are not limited to): 1. Sales Volume and Market Share Facilitate the achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual targets by the On-Con sales team. Explore and capitalize on opportunities to enhance sales and increase volumes. Conduct thorough analyses of competitor activities and present clear insights on opposition strategy. Oversee the attainment of regional On-Con market-share and availability targets by the sales team. Monitor and assess market dynamics to adapt strategies and optimize sales performance 2. Key Accounts Ensure the effective execution of the key accounts' strategy. Guarantee the attainment of key account targets by the company. Sustain positive working relationships with key account clients and perform monthly reviews. Oversee and handle negotiations for rebates, ensuring the punctual disbursement of performance incentives. Supervise display/forward share and RSPs. 3. Management of Sales Drivers Ensure the efficient execution of the national promotions plan within the On-Con Market. Promote creativity in On-Con promotions to captivate audiences and generate interest. Devise and execute inventive On-Con promotions, offering valuable feedback on implemented strategies. Adhere consistently to promotional standards to uphold the company's reputation. Facilitate the timely delivery of accurate and insightful feedback on promotions to the Marketing department. Organize and conduct promotions with precision, maintaining a high level of professionalism in line with company standards. Optimize the use of company assets to deliver the most valuable outcomes for the business. Meet pricing, distribution, and forward share objectives effectively. 4. Financial Control and Credit Ensure that stock requirements are managed efficiently. Manage Rebate and Cycle Deal expense accounts as per agreed standards. Manage Non-Key Account Discount Budget as per agreed standards. Manage promotion activation and stock budget as per agreed standards. Ensure the company's credit policy is communicated to and understood by all On-Con customers. Promote good teamwork between Credit Controllers and On-Con team. Communicate all credit risks and irregularities. Ensure POD's and credit notes are returned timeously. Manage On-Con sales team's use of petrol cards, credit cards, vehicles, entertainment allowances and cell phones. Compile and submit a monthly vehicle condition report on sales team vehicles. 5. People Management and Personal Development Hold performance review sessions and conduct reviews with On-Con staff members. Lead and mentor staff and together with each staff member, develop development plans and identify training needs. Monitor team dynamics and take action to ensure good working relationships. Ensure staff are aware of and understand company's mission statement, goals, and strategic priorities. Organise team building and goal setting sessions. Ensure that staff adhere to the company's code of conduct. Desired Experience & Qualification 3 Year related tertiary qualification (Beneficial). 3-Years Relevant experience - NB experience within FMCG/Liquor industry experience will be preferable. People management experience - essential. Product, service knowledge and understanding of category management. Knowledge of marketing and accounting principles. Computer literate. Ability to conceptualise and negotiate. ability to maintain and develop long lasting customer relationships Sound interpersonal skills and creativity (big picture thinking). Team player and ability to work independently using initiative. Endurance and ability to tolerate extended hours.
