Position: Sales Manager

Location: Pretoria, Gauteng

Salary: R 50 000 negotiable (very high earning potential with commission)

Our Client is seeking a proactive, analytical thinking individual with Sales Manager experience to oversee a dedicated team of sales consultants who engage with leads generated from their bond origination partners.

The overall purpose of this Sales Manager role is to drive target achievement and financial growth to guide the team's campaigns. The Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in motivating and mentoring the team to ensure the attainment of sales goals, while upholding quality standards and compliance with pertinent regulations.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire, and manage a team of sales consultants to reach and exceed sales targets.
  • Foster a team of engaged sales consultants who value collaboration, continuous learning, and exceptional performance.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to team members, ensuring their professional growth and development.
  • Campaign management: develop and implement effective sales strategies to optimise lead conversion and maximise revenue generation.
  • Analyse sales data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Ensure that all sales activities adhere to relevant industry regulations and legislation.
  • Maintain quality assurance by implementing best practices and conducting regular audits of sales interactions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, fostering effective communication and alignment.
  • Proactively identify areas for process improvement and operational efficiency within the sales team.
  • Drive the implementation of enhancements to streamline workflows and enhance client experiences.
  • Ensure team members are well-equipped to engage with leads effectively and provide valuable insurance solutions.
  • Monitor team performance, track KPIs, and provide regular updates to the Head of Sales on progress and results.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients by effectively managing leads and following up on inquiries.
  • Demonstrate excellent product knowledge to effectively address questions and objections from clients during cold calls.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales targets and KPIs on a regular basis.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to promote client retention and repeat business.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities and client interactions in the CRM system.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to optimise sales strategies and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to effectively position our products and services.
  • Continuously enhance sales skills and product knowledge through training and professional development opportunities.
Required qualifications
  • Minimum Grade 12, additional tertiary education and advantage.
  • Must be RE 5 qualified.
  • Must have previous experience as a Sales Manager or Team Leader.
Required Experience
  • Relevant work experience in direct sales and managerial experience in the Financial Industry.
  • Knowledge of insurance products and services advantageous.
  • Knowledge of bond origination products and services an advantage.
  • Relevant work experience in a sales call centre environment advantageous.
Skills and Attributes
  • Computer Literate (Excel, Word & Outlook).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role. The ability to communicate with stakeholders clearly and effectively at all levels is critical.
  • Strong analytical thinking and proactive work ethic is ESSENTIAL for interpreting data and identifying trends that can inform business development strategies.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with mortgage originators and other key stakeholders is critical for success in this role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are essential for identifying and addressing issues that may arise during business development activities.
  • Excellent verbal, written and numeracy skills.
  • Excellent telephonic sales and service ability.
  • Reside in a 25km radius of Menlyn Mall.
