A newly created position is available in our client's Middelburg branch for a Sales Representative. The incumbent will be responsible for selling and promoting new electric motors and selling and promoting the Repair facility.Position Summary:Achieve maximum sales profitability, growth and market penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively selling the company's products and/or related services. Personally contact and secure new business accounts/customers.Responsibilities:

  • Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assisgned territoty/market segments, to generate new business for the organizations products/services.
  • Make telephone calls and in person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
  • Research of market segments & territories, in a view to identify prospective customers and their potential.
  • Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
  • Coordinate sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups.
  • Create and manages a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities.
  • Identify advantages and compare organizations product/services.
  • Plan and organize personal sales strategy by maximizing the return of time investment for the territory/segment.
  • Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical areas.
  • Participate in trade shows and conventions.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Monthly and weekly reports on sales.
  • Checking orders and booking reports to ensure all invoicing has been done.
  • Follow up of all enquiries and quotations.
  • Keeping in contact with management of the company and keeping them informed of all aspects of our company, positive or negative.
  • Familiarize yourself with the IT operating system.
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
  • Minimum Qualification Matric Technical and or Mechanical qualification is seen as an added advantage.
  • Must possess 3+ years' experience in the Electrical/Mechanical sector.
  • Good solid understanding of the mining industry.
  • Demonstrate aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach).
  • Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact management software.
  • Must have market knowledge of the market and customer base in the identified area.
  • Valid drivers license.
Travel:
  • Extensive travel - Works predominately out of the office. Required to visit customers on site e.g. mining plants.
  • Works flexible hours.
  • After hour and weekend standby required.
  • Is subject to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends and holidays should the need arise.
  • Attends and participates in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession.
  • Position may require out of town travel.
