Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a SAP Commerce Cloud Developer to join the team at our head office in Midrand. The main purpose of this role will be to design, develop, and maintain SAP Commerce Cloud application by ensuring applications are scalable and efficient. Debug and troubleshoot issues with existing applications to ensure platform is functioning as expected and meet customer's needs.Minimum RequirementEssential:

  • Grade 12 / Matric or a Senior Certificate
  • Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or related.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years relevant experience working on SAP Commerce Cloud (formerly Hybris) solution with at least two end to end SAP commerce implementations.
Advantageous:
  • Experience with eCommerce systems
  • SAP Commerce Cloud Certification
Job Specification
  • Design, implement, and customise SAP Commerce Cloud solution to meet the business requirements.
  • Develop and extend core functionalities, modules, and integrations to enhance the platform's capabilities such as Backoffice and Spartacus extensions.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for developed solutions, including design specifications, architecture diagrams, and development guidelines.
  • Develop, test, and deliver quality application code to meet requirements based on the technical specification for the task.
  • Integrate with various other systems, such as ERP, CRM, CDC, OPPS, payment gateways, and shipping providers.
  • Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
  • Ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of projects while also ensuring that project gates and governance are properly adhered to during the project execution.
  • Analyse and improve the performance of the SAP Commerce Cloud application to ensure optimal response times and seamless user experiences, especially during peak traffic periods.
  • Define and follow best practices to manage performance and scalability of SAP Commerce solution.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues and bugs in a timely manner. Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the stability and reliability of the e-commerce platform.
  • Keep abreast of the latest SAP Commerce Cloud features, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Proactively suggest improvements to the existing architecture and processes to enhance overall system performance and development efficiency.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, UI/UX designers, business analysts, and quality assurance engineers, to deliver a cohesive and exceptional e-commerce experience.
  • Provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders regarding projects and available communication channels.
  • Provide accurate and concise feedback to project team leads highlighting task status, issues and risks.
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.
CompetenciesEssential:
  • Knowledge and understand integration SAP Commerce Cloud with various other systems and services, such as ERP, CRM, CDC, OPPS, payment gateways, and shipping providers. Familiar with Agile methodologies in Project Management
  • Strong Technical Skills- Strong experience in SAP Commerce Cloud development with a deep understanding of its architecture, data model, and core functionalities. Proficiency in Java and related frameworks, as well as web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs.
  • Hands on experience with SAP Commerce/Hybris Core Architecture, cockpits, impex, Backoffice customization & accelerator store customization. Proficiency in WCMS, Cockpits, Cron jobs, internationalization, personalization, security concepts and REST.
  • Experience on customizing OCC web-services. Experience on integrating payment provider with SAP Commerce. Experience working with Git version control system.
  • Experience of integrating SAP Commerce with SAP ERP or CRM system.
