Kumba Iron Ore

We produce high-grade iron ore, the key component in steel widely used in construction and manufacturing across the world. Our activities include all aspects - exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Centurion, Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.



As a Resource Coordinator (Various) your responsibilities will include:

  • Consistently apply Safety and health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for the safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
  • Act as a role model and support a workplace culture where safety and health for the site are paramount.
  • Support an environment for team members to challenge and act on unsafe behaviours without repercussions.
  • The resourcing of materials, spares, and services should constitute at least 70% of routine task requirements. After the authorisation of the Monthly planning, all service, planned maintenance, engineering tasks, production services and mining tasks are planned with the associated materials, spares and services required to complete the work as per the required business standards.
  • The business objective is to ensure that resources (materials, spares, and services) are delivered to the workplace ahead of schedule. Most tasks are routine work approved by the business, and the materials selected on each work package/job card are stipulated in the budget as per the operating standard requirements.
  • Run Transaction =ZG_EAM_RSR_DSP - Resource Status Report, displayed daily to get a list of required resources needed for the planned tasks as a Resource Status Report (RSR Report).
  • Ensure availability of materials, specialised tools, services & equipment.
  • Determine, track, and confirm the Material Available Dates and ensure that these dates will meet the Scheduled Dates for the Tasks.
  • Use the Resource Status Reports information to ensure that the Resources and Materials will be available on time at the correct Work Place.
  • Collect each Task before the scheduled date and ensure they meet the required specifications.
  • Escalate in time when the delivery would not meet the Scheduled Date.
  • Arrange for expediting the delayed Materials and arrange for alternative supply sources when appropriate.
  • Inform the Scheduler to add it to the Issue List that needs to be discussed on the Draft Schedule Review Meeting for action.
  • Assist and participate in weekly schedule drafts and formal reviews. Document all necessary information.
This role is in the Engineering department on a band 7 level and reports to the Section Manager Planning/Planning Advisor/General Engineering Supervisor

Qualifications
  • Grade 12/N3 (Technical Matric)
  • N4 Engineering Studies
  • Trade test Certificate in Engineering discipline
  • SA Valid Drivers Licence
  • Additional information
  • Forklift License (Advantageous)
  • Computer skills(Microsoft excel, word and powerpoint
Experience
  • 3-5 Years in relevant field
  • SAP PM and Materials Management
