Kumba Iron Ore



We produce high-grade iron ore, the key component in steel widely used in construction and manufacturing across the world. Our activities include all aspects - exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Centurion, Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.





-As our Scheduler of your responsibilities will include but not limited to:


Safety, Health, and Environment + Consistently apply Safety and Health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for the safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
Function as a role model and support a workplace culture where safety and health for the site are paramount. Support an environment for team members to challenge and act on unsafe behaviours without repercussions. Performance and Delivery Scheduling: Collect inputs for the initial schedule window: + Specified required date for the work order.
+ Specified the most likely duration of the work order.
+ Allocated scheduled start date.
+ Identified critical issues.
Build an effective schedule: + Define a Task start time that fits the completion window (i.e. between the earliest time resources can be available and the latest date that the work can be started and meet the required completion date).
+ Confirm and allocate Equipment/Workplace access time and labour and equipment availability.
+ Confirm labour and equipment availability.
+ Align and separate Tasks that can be completed together.
+ Separate Tasks that cannot be completed together.
+ Sequence Tasks that have dependencies.
+ Distribute the Draft Schedule in time to the relevant teams to review.
Work Order Task Status Report (Daily): + Review the Work Order Task Status Report daily.
+ Schedule newly approved work to assist in setting the schedule and to track upcoming work.
+ Work collaterally across departments to ensure the proper communication of timing and impact of scheduled work.
+ Support the Work Management process by scheduling all approved work by the required date.
Optimise efficiency: + Liaison with the relevant personnel responsible for executing the scheduled activities.
+ Obtain decisions from relevant parties regarding the action to manage critical issues.
+ Obtain the agreement to the schedule from all affected parties.
+ Follow the managing change process as defined by the business when work needs to be cancelled or rescheduled before or during the execution of the task.
Document critical issues (Weekly): + Agenda for critical issues are drafted, and discussions are scheduled.
+ Critical issues identified for the draft schedule are compiled.
+ Responsible for ensuring Weekly Schedule Review Meeting take place as a business requirement.
Finalise the schedule (Weekly): + Compile weekly schedule review meeting minutes in time according to requirements.
+ Ensure that all relevant parties agree, sign the final schedule, and set the status to" RTE."
+ Issue Execution schedule with the Work orders.
+ Ensure the 4-week schedule is visible and displayed to assist line personnel.
+ Weekly filing of the signed-off execution schedules.

This role is in Engineering & Maintenance HME/Plant (ENG) department on a band 7.8 level reporting to the Planning Advisor.





Qualifications

-Grade 12/N3 (Technical Matric) N4 Engineering Studies Trade test certificate SA Driver's License
Technical Knowledge


Key value drivers within the discipline's value chain and interdependence of critical levers. Principles of how operational processes are classified according to the Operating Model, focusing on Work Management. Real-time problem-solving tools and techniques. Business acumen and commercial drivers of discipline schedule. Basic financial metrics. Operational Risk management techniques and critical controls. Safety, health and environment, legislative, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
