Scrap Metal Small Scales Operator

Job Description
The Group currently has a vacancy for a fast paced and accurate Small Scales Operator to join the team. The successful candidate will assist with buying of Non-Ferrous and Ferrous metals at the Small Scales Department situated at the Elandsfontein yard in Gauteng. The successful candidate will report to the Production Manager. He/she will also have to:POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Weigh incoming scrap metal
- Correctly identify and grade incoming scrap metal
- Have experience using and analysing the handheld spectrometer
- Capture correct data on to the small scales system
- Direct bins to the appropriate offloading areas
- Be honest to the Company and to the companys customers at all times
- Be able to work under pressure
- Pay attention to detail
- Be able to work both in a team and as an individual
- A minimum Grade 12 certificate
- Basic mathematical skills
- Knowledge of different types and grades of metals
- Minimum of 5 years experience in scrap metal
- Computer literacy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to liaise professionally with customers and colleagues
- Ability to follow instructions
- Strong sense of honesty
