The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing quality seafood products, negotiating favorable terms, maintaining strong supplier relationships, and ensuring accurate procurement reporting. This role demands a deep understanding of the seafood market, excellent stakeholder communication, and strong business insight.Minimum RequirementsMatric or equivalent (required)Minimum 3 years of experience in buying, sourcing, supplier management, and order managementProven knowledge of the local and Namibian seafood market, seafood suppliers, industry standards, and quality control (advantageous)Additional certifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Logistics (advantageous)Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with SAP Business One or similar ERP systems is an advantageKey Skills & AttributesExcellent negotiation, networking, and relationship-building abilitiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a critical and proactive mindsetHigh attention to detail, accuracy, and organizationExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAble to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlinesSelf-motivated and able to work independently or in a teamStrong time management skills with a sense of urgencyResourceful, energetic, and adaptable to a fast-paced environmentCapable of delivering against KPI targets and evolving business requirementsKey Responsibilities1. Sourcing of GoodsIdentify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with current onesConduct ongoing market research on pricing, seasonal trends, and regulatory developmentsDevelop sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and lead timesManage inventory levels relative to forecasts and stock requirementsCoordinate procurement transactions between suppliers, logistics, operations, sales, QA, and financeExplore opportunities to expand the company's product offering2. NegotiationNegotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements with suppliersEnsure contracts are compliant with internal policiesResolve supplier issues related to quality, pricing, or service delivery, securing favorable outcomes for the business3. Supplier RelationsMaintain and build relationships with seafood suppliersProvide forecasts and monitor supplier performance where applicableCollaborate with senior management and sales on category planning and new product opportunitiesConduct supplier performance reviews and drive improvementsPromote compliance with quality and sustainability standards4. ReportingMaintain accurate records of purchases, supplier performance, and pricingProvide regular procurement activity reports to senior managementAnalyze market intelligence and generate insights or recommendations for strategic decision-makingProactively identify and escalate risks or obstacles
