Essence of the job:This position is responsible for providing professional services on projects within the Functional group including management of geotechnical works and deliverables for medium/large projects and managing professional teams. The position is further responsible for project acquisition, financial management, and delivery of all projects within the Section, including the management of staff within the group to optimise utilisation and achievement of project milestones.Qualification:BEng or BSc degree in civil engineering or BSc (Honours) degree in engineering geology (or geology) or higher degree in these fields from an accredited university/collegePost graduate qualification is advantageousMinimum Requirements:10 years of practical experience in the geotechnical/engineering geology fieldRelevant professional registration: Pr. Eng. (ECSA) or Pr. Sci. Nat. (SACNAP)Experience in specifying, managing and supervising complex geotechnical investigationsExperience in geotechnical/ geological data collection, analysis and geotechnical designDemonstrable ability to identify, define and solve complex engineering problemsLeadership, engineering and project management skillsApplication of modern profession specific QA and QC frameworksInterpersonal communication skills to integrate a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environmentAdvanced oral and written communication skillsExperience in Government standards, codes and documentationKnowledge of web-based project cost control and financial systems (BST)Ability to maintain a consistent and manageable workload
