Job Description

The Security and Productivity Engineer uses technical knowledge on several security technologies to analyse and respond to security threats from various security platforms and technologies. Responsible for initial triage of incoming client issues. Responsible for making recommendations on Security policy design and implementation. Responsible for documentation of security practises. This role is also responsible for the handling of the productivity suite specifically with regards to Microsoft.This position reports to the Group IT Architect and Support Manager, and is based in the Cato Ridge, Kwa-Zulu Natal offices. This position liaises with all levels of employees at FBB. This position is responsible for the daily IT security function and including the Microsoft productivity suite.RequirementsPrimary Responsibilities

• Incident investigation & threat hunting, through event log monitoring or with systems like Darktrace, Log360 or similar
• Providing input on recommended and mandatory security measures.
• Aid in developing company-wide best practices for IT security.
• Endpoint protection administration (Sophos, Fortigate etc).
• Provide input on developing and implementing a company-wide InfoSec program for education of users.
• Ensure the company stays up to date on security preventative measures.
• Implementation and maintenance of cyber-security strategy, policies, and protocols, including, cloud, on-prem and SAAS.
• Responsible for MS productivity suite, including the use of Sharepoint, Power APPs etc.
• Protection of confidentiality, integrity, and authorised access of data
• Test validity of companys cyber-security posture

Secondary Responsibilities

• Ensure user tickets are resolved timeously and correctly. Tickets are updated and closed with the relevant detail added.
• Provide user support that is both supportive and instructive, to allow the user to work as efficiently and effectively as is possible.
• Report to management any issues that arise that are either beyond the scope of the individual or that have not yet been made known to management.
• Run with any projects that are assigned to the individual or to the team.
• Daily server support in conjunction with the systems engineer.
• Daily network support in conjunction with the systems engineer.

Relations & Interactions (Interfaces)

• C Suite level, supervisors, managers, and employees at all levels within the group of companies | Collaboration, relationship building, information gathering and solution implementation.
• Suppliers, Consultants, 3rd party businesses | Relationship management, Service supply

Know-How, Technical Skills, and Experience (no of years and where)

• Matric or Matric equivalent
• 3-5 years work experience
• A degree in computer science or suitable related area and/or industry qualifications with regards to the job (Security+, GSEC, SSCP etc)
• Experience in IT Security, with experience in incident investigation & threat hunting using various tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of IT security controls (Network IPS, Vulnerability Scanning, Endpoint Protection, Firewalls etc).
• Experience with responding to phishing emails, malware analysis, network attacks and network traffic analysis.
• Email security, including Mimecast and Microsoft defender.

Technical Competencies

• IT Security - Physical and electronic protection of data: access control, intrusion detection, virus protection, incident response, development and implementation of security policies and procedures
• Microsoft Cloud based Management SharePoint, Teams, and various other features within the Office 365 suite
• Continuity management Preservation of assets through implementation of back-up procedures and disaster recovery
• Unified Communications management
