Senior Accountant

Our client in the Financial industry is currently looking for a Senior Accountant, in Cape Town, Western Cape.Responsibilities:

Take overall responsibility for assigned work.
Interrogating current practices and proposing enhancements to improve efficiencies with a specific focus on technology.
Identify information required and requesting it from clients and/or relevant sources.
Take responsibility of monthly financial accounting services.
Management of the full Accounting cycle.
Preparing reconciliations of financial statement line items.
Compilation of financial statements.
Proposing appropriate accounting treatments in line with applicable financial reporting standards.
Provisional and income tax calculations.
Reconciliation and submission of input/output VAT.
Review of work performed by junior team members.
Ability to identify errors and propose appropriate remedies.
Adhering to deadlines in a timeous manner.

Requirements:

Strong Administration Skills:
Business Accounting Savvy.
Effective Communicator.
Relevant Degree: A BCom, BCompt, or BAcc is a must.
SAIPA Articles: Preferred and advantageous.
Experience with Draftworx Cloud and Xero is non-negotiable.
Tax Expertise: Should have a solid understanding of tax principles and practical experience.
