An exciting role with a prominent group of companies in Cape Town's Northern Suburbs seeks an accomplished Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate is someone who has strong leadership abilities and solid financial knowledge. The role requires overseeing financial operations across multiple companies while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and integrity. The successful individual must excel in both technical accounting and team management, bringing proven experience in handling complex financial reporting requirements.Responsibilities:

• Prepare consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the group
• Perform variance analysis
• Monitor and ensure compliance with SARS regulations, VAT, and other tax obligations
• Oversee daily accounting functions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll for the group
• Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions
• Prepare and submission of VAT, PAYE, and other tax returns
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for the group
• Lead the coordination of year-end audits with external auditors
• Prepare audit schedules and required documentation
• Monitor compliance with financial reporting standards
• Manage and mentor a team of junior accountants
• Ensure the finance team maintains high standards of accuracy and professionalism
• Provide regular and ad-hoc financial reporting to management
• Assist in mergers, acquisitions, or corporate restructuring
• Support senior management with any other financial-related projects or tasks as required

Requirements:

• (CA(SA), CIMA, or equivalent qualification
• BCom Accounting, Finance, or a related field degree
• Min of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance
• At least 3 years' experience in a senior or supervisory role, ideally in a group or multi-entity environment
• Strong proficiency with accounting software
• Advanced MS Office and MS Excel skills
• Thorough knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, and VAT law
• Experience with multi-currency financial management and intercompany reconciliation
