Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of effectively managing financial responsibilities and ensuring accuracy and compliance across all accounting functions. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in our financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes, as well as providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.



Responsibilities:



Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with established accounting principles and regulations Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for the business Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations Collaborate with internal teams to support budgeting and forecasting processes, as well as financial analysis and strategic planning initiatives Provide financial guidance to senior management, including recommending opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth Assist with audits and tax filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements Mentor and train junior accounting staff to develop their skills and expertise


Requirements:



Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting position Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, including GAAP and IFRS Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams * Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
