Senior Accountant
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our clients team at a leading property company based in Ermelo, Mpumlanga. The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of experience in a similar accounting role within the property or real estate sector. This position demands a meticulous professional with a strong understanding of property management financials and a proven track record managing accounting functions for multiple companies.Minimum Requirements:

  • Essential: Diploma / Bachelor's in Accounting or relevant Financial Degree.
  • Essential: 5+ years of experience as an Accountant.
  • Essential: Proven experience managing accounting functions for multiple companies.
  • Essential: Own vehicle and Valid Drivers License.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Financial Management and Reporting:
  • Oversee all financial operations and reporting activities until Chartered Accountant (CA) sign-off for the group, encompassing 23 companies.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial statements and reports in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Debtors Management:
  • Direct and manage the Debtors Department, ensuring efficient processing and collection of accounts receivable.
  • Implement and monitor effective credit control measures to minimize outstanding debts and enhance cash flow.
Creditors Reconciliation:
  • Supervise the Creditors Department, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of accounts payable.
  • Review and approve payment schedules, ensuring adherence to company policies and financial regulations.
Inventory Control:
  • Oversee stock control processes at two warehouses, ensuring accurate inventory records and efficient management of stock levels.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and implement corrective actions to address discrepancies and improve inventory accuracy.
Taxation and Compliance:
  • Manage and ensure timely submission of Value-Added Tax (VAT) and Employee's Tax (EMP) returns.
  • Maintain compliance with tax regulations and liaise with tax authorities as necessary.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic financial insights and support to senior management for decision-making and business planning.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as required, with specifics available upon request.
