Job Description
We are currently recruiting for Senior Accountant to join our clientxe2x80x99s team within the services industry, based in the vibrant area of Johannesburg North! The role is crucial for overseeing our accounting operations, ensuring compliance with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), and managing payroll functions. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in full-spectrum accounting practices, PFMA regulations, and payroll management. If this opportunity excites you, we urge you to apply!Duties:
- Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with PFMA standards and other relevant regulations.
- Assist with the review and the finalization of all reports.
- Oversee the full accounting function, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Ensure adherence to PFMA standards and other regulatory requirements, conducting regular audits and implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance.
- Prepare financial and management reports which would include detailed variance analysis.
- Qualifications:
- BCom Accounting Degree
- SAICA or SAIPA articles required
- Knowledge of PFMA
- Experience:
- A minimum of 6 to 8 years of working experience in a similar role
