Our client, a fully-integrated producer, packer, and marketer based in the Citrusdal Valley, Western Cape, is looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join their team and contribute significantly to their ongoing success.Role Overview:As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in managing and overseeing operational expenses. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong interest in agriculture and/or FMCG and finance, with a focus on cost analysis. You will work closely with the finance and operational departments to ensure accurate cost reporting, identify cost-saving opportunities, and enhance overall profitability.Minimum Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in an FMCG or Agriculture organization.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Business Central is a plus).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Passion for agriculture and/or FMCG with a keen interest in industry details.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the organization.
• Knowledge of South African tax regulations and agricultural accounting principles is advantageous.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with day-to-day accounting functions for company and trust accounts.
• Conduct detailed analysis and reporting on production costs for various products.
• Monitor and analyse operational expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with operational teams to implement and maintain effective cost control measures.
• Track and reconcile financial transactions related to operational costs.
• Assist in the preparation of comprehensive financial reports and statements.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to operational expenses.
• Provide management with necessary financial data and reports.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory developments relevant to agricultural and/or FMCG cost accounting.
