If so, look no further!We are thrilled to be partnering with an established company based in Port Elizabeth, who have gone to market for a Senior Accountant a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing of accounting records onto a computerised accounting system resulting in an accurate and complete set of books as well as liaising with clients directly and supervising and training junior and intermediate accountants.Some of the duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Supervise and initiating the processing of client information receipts, sales invoices, purchase invoices
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Processing and reconciling of Petty Cash and cash control accounts
• Keeping of a fixed asset register
• General journals e.g., depreciation, provisions, interest, salaries, stock, etc.
• Process journal entries e.g., new instalment sale agreements, interest on borrowings, provisions, accruals of income and expenses, bad debts etc.
• Reconcile debtors and creditors statements
• Analyse the resulting trial balance for mistakes / deviations and be able to discuss the results with the client.
• Calculation of PAYE/UIF/SDL levies and VAT.
• Completion of statutory returns e.g., UIF/SDL/PAYE/VAT.
• Liaise with client re payment of the above returns.

The successful candidate will have:

• Matric with Accounting at a Higher Grade
• BCom degree or equivalent degree with Accounting III and taxation
• Completed SAIPA articles or SAICA articles
• Six years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience in Pastel, CaseWare and Xero
