Duties/Pligte
Providing expert support to faculties in the identification of areas of improvement in teaching, learning and assessment.
Liaising and communicating with faculties and other role players regarding CTL projects and activities, as well as other TLA matters.
Providing advice and support to Faculty management and academics on curriculum renewal.
Supporting the conceptualisation of interventions/policies/guidelines to improve student learning and success and equity of outcomes.
Creating research-based institutional reports on TLA.
Contributing to the systematic development of professional teachers at SU.
Representing DLTE in different teaching-learning-assessment forums.
Voorsien deskundige ondersteuning aan fakulteite met die identifikasie van areas vir verbetering in OLA.
Skakel en kommunikeer met fakulteite en ander rolspelers ten opsigte van SOL projekte en aktiwiteite sowel as ander OLA aangeleenthede.
Voorsien raad en ondersteuning aan Fakulteitsbestuur en akademici ten opsigte van kurrikulumvernuwing.
Ondersteun die konseptualisering van intervensies/beleide/riglyne ten einde studenteleer en -sukses en billikheid van uitkomste te verhoog.
Skep navorsingsgebaseerde institusionele verslae oor OLA.
Dra by tot die sistematiese ontwikkeling van professionele dosente by US.
Verteenwoordig ALOV in verskeie onderrig-leer-assessering forums.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
A PhD or enrolled for a relevant PhD (Senior Advisors will be assigned to faculties based on disciplinary expertise as far as possible).
Five years' experience of TLA at undergraduate level at a public university, preferably at senior lecturer level.
Proven participation in curriculum change projects and/or student success programmes in HE.
Sound knowledge of the South African higher education sector.
Strong familiarity with the scholarship of teaching and learning in South Africa and internationally.
Proof of participation in professional learning opportunities for TLA.
Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to work in a complex environment.
Proven ability to think analytically and innovatively and taking initiative.
Excellent communication and liaising skills.
Excellent writing, presentation and facilitation skills.
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Detail-focused with excellent time management skills.
Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Moodle.
A valid driver's licence.
