We have an engaging, fully on-site opportunity for a digital first Senior Art Director to join the dynamic, hands-on creative team at a creative agency in Cape Town.We're looking for a strategic Senior Art Director who can lead the visual and conceptual direction of creative projects, ensuring that all work is strategically sound, beautifully executed, and impactful. You'll work across branding, digital, film, motion, and experiential campaigns, bringing fresh ideas and strong leadership to the creative team.You will enjoy the opportunity to work on diverse, high-impact campaigns, from brand storytelling to motion-driven content. This role offers both creative leadership and hands-on involvement in high-quality execution.This hands-on role is ideal for someone who is just as comfortable concepting and pitching ideas as they are overseeing execution and guiding teams. • Lead creative campaigns - Oversee the development of integrated campaigns, brand work, and high-level creative executions.
• Set the visual direction - Define art direction, style, and execution across multiple formats, ensuring all work aligns with strategic objectives.
• Concept & pitch - Develop and present ideas that push creative boundaries while remaining effective and commercially viable.
• Collaborate & inspire - Work closely with writers, designers, and motion teams to craft work that is both visually compelling and strategically smart.
• Elevate design & craft - Maintain high creative standards, ensuring that all work is executed with attention to detail and excellence.
• Guide & mentor - Support and provide feedback to mid and junior designers, fostering a culture of creative growth.
• Work across digital & traditional platforms - Concept and execute ideas for film, digital, social, print, and experiential activations.
• Client & team engagement - Confidently present work to internal teams and clients, articulating the creative rationale behind decisions.
• Stay Ahead of Trends - Bring insights into emerging trends, technology, and creative storytelling techniques.

RequirementsThe successful candidate must have/be:

• Industry relevant qualification
• 10+ years of experience as a Senior Art Director in an agency or creative studio.
• TTL and strong Digital experience
• A strong portfolio showcasing high-level conceptual thinking and beautifully crafted design across multiple platforms.
• A deep understanding of branding, campaign storytelling, and digital-first design thinking.
• Strategic thinker
• Proven ability to lead teams, inspire creatives, and push work to the next level.
• Experience in film, photography, motion, and art direction.
• Strong communication skills-the ability to present ideas clearly and confidently to teams and clients.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Bonus: Experience in After Effects, Figma, interactive design, UI/UX, or emerging Digital platforms.
