ABOUT COM-STRUCTCom-struct has been serving the telecommunications industry since 2003, we provide new cellular infrastructure including new Site builds, share sites, rooftops to companies like Vodacom and American Tower, we also provide maintenance and upgrades of existing sites along with other scopes for these sites. We are a Private company with two owners. Com-struct is a registered Electrical Company holding a Level 2 BEE status.We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to take on the full bookkeeping function. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the financial operations of the organisation. This position requires a high level of expertise in accounting practices and the ability to handle complex financial tasks.Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Maintain & Manage Accurate Financial records:Manage the general ledger & perform month-end & year-end reconciliationsPrepare cashbook & bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptlyProcessing monthly journals & adjustments and closing accounting modules(Inclusive of Intercompany loan Accounts& Shareholders Loan Accounts)Oversee Daily transactions & ensuring accuracyPrepare & review monthly management accounts up to balance sheetMonitor & ensure compliance with accounting policies & internal controlOversee & maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring proper tracking &depreciation and capturing in pastelSupport Audits & liaise with external accountants during audit processCollaborate with other departments to ensure the accuracy of financial dataCredit Card Statement & Expense Claim ReconciliationsOversee fleet card Reconciliation (Completed by Creditors Clerk)Process Petty Cash into pastel (Petty Cash process done by Creditors Clerk)Manage Cash Flow and process payments via Standard Bank Online PlatformRegulatory Compliance:Ensure Compliance with appropriate regulatory requirements, including thoseset by the South African Revenue services (SARS), CIPC, Department of Labour,(COIDA) etcKeep abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and implement necessaryadjustments.Ensure Annual Tax Compliance is achievedMonthly Statutory Returns:Prepare & submit monthly VAT Reconciliations to ensure accuracy andcompleteness of financial recordsAssist with supporting documents for SARS verifications.Stock Control:Oversee and manage (Stores) stock control, ensuring accurate record-keeping,stock movement tracking, and compliance with company procedures.Accounts Payable:Manage Creditors Clerk, ensuring accuracy and eiciency in accounts payableprocesses.Review the full age analysis, identifying and addressing overdue accounts &supplier issuesReport on Open purchase orders and ensuring timely resolution and accuratefinancial reportingEnsure Adequate Project Tracking (Project Codes are Used)Ensure timely monthly payment run is actioned.Accounts Receivable:Manage debtors Clerk, ensuring accuracy and eiciency in accounts recprocesses.Review the full age analysis, identifying and addressing overdue accounts &customer issuesReport on Open purchase orders and ensuring timely resolution and accuratefinancial reportingEnsure Adequate Project Tracking (Project Codes are Used)Ensure outstanding debtors are followed up timeouslyPayroll:Oversee the payroll handled by the HR and payroll Manager & ensurecompliance with tax and labour regulationsOversee the monthly preparation and submission of EMP201 ReturnsSubmit Annual & Bi-Annual EMP501Ensure monthly UIF Declaration submissions are completedEnsure compliance with appropriate regulatory requirementsGeneral:General Office AdministrationAssist with drafting of policies & proceduresProvide training on policies & proceduresAssist with arranging vehicle & asset financeMaintain online banking ProfileMaintain Insurances (Add/Remove Assets) (Goods In Transit) (Legal Liability) etcAssist with Shareholders Agreements / Share Distributions / Loan AccountsShortlisted candidates will be contacted within two weeks of their application submission.Should you not be contacted within two weeks of your application, please consider that your application has not been successful at this time.Starting Date: ASAPWilling to do training/handover on SaturdaysEducation:Formal qualification in Accounting/FinanceExperience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related roleExperience in a technical industry will be highly advantageous.Skills:Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.Proficiency in accounting software (Sage Pastel Partner) and Microsoft OiceSuite, particularly Excel.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Deadline-driven.A team player.Maintain a proactive and results-driven approach, prioritizing task completionover simply adhering to the clock
