Senior Construction Manager- Richardsbay-12 months contract Technical / Construction
Pietermaritzburg - KwaZulu NatalSenior Site Manager - Steel and Concrete Construction- Richardsbay-12 months contractKey ResponsibilitiesProject Management

• Direct overall site operations and coordinate multiple work crews, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets for steel and concrete works
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Implement and maintain project control systems and quality assurance programs
• Coordinate with design teams, engineers, and clients to resolve technical issues

Technical Oversight

• Supervise steel erection sequences and concrete pour schedules
• Ensure compliance with structural specifications and building codes
• Oversee concrete mix designs, testing procedures, and quality control
• Monitor steel fabrication quality and installation tolerances
• Manage temporary works design and implementation

Health and Safety

• Maintain strict site safety protocols and OSHA compliance
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments
• Ensure proper implementation of fall protection systems
• Oversee crane operations and lifting plans
• Monitor environmental compliance and waste management

Team Leadership

• Manage and mentor site supervision team
• Coordinate with project stakeholders including architects, engineers, and local authorities
• Lead daily briefings and progress meetings
• Develop and implement training programs for site personnel
• Handle workforce planning and resource allocation

Required QualificationsEducation and Certifications

• Bachelors degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Professional certification (PMP, CSCS, or equivalent)
• First Aid and CPR certification

Experience

• Minimum 10 years construction experience with 5+ years in senior site management
• Proven track record managing large-scale steel and concrete projects
• Extensive experience with high-rise or complex structural projects
• Demonstrated expertise in modern construction methods and technologies

Technical Skills

• Proficient in construction management software (Primavera P6, MS Project)
• Strong knowledge of building codes and industry standards
• Understanding of structural engineering principles
• Expertise in concrete placement techniques and steel erection methods
