To provide group-wide accurate, expert, specialist, relevant, quality regulatory compliance advice, operational risk review and assessment services for all TU Africa regions. Responsible for the supporting the development of a compliance program whilst striving to build and ensure a culture of compliance within the organisation which reflects to all outside parties.
What You'll Bring:
Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable regulations relevant to credit bureau operations.
Keep abreast of regulatory changes and update policies and procedures accordingly.
Develop, implement and perform assessments of regulatory impact on the organisation, create gap analyses, rate risks of regulatory requirements for the implementation of monitoring and write assessment reports to be presented to senior management.
Develop and implement regular audits and assessments to identify potential compliance risks.
Facilitate the development and approval of compliance risk management plans for the organisation in accordance with generally accepted compliance principles and standards.
Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
Ensure that company policies are in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Identify and assess areas of compliance risk.
Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks and implement corrective actions.
Develop and deliver compliance training programs to employees.
Provide guidance and support to employees on compliance-related issues.
Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records and documentation.
Conduct thorough internal investigations of compliance issues and breaches.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors during compliance audits.
Work closely with other departments to integrate compliance measures into business processes.
Liaise with regulatory bodies, external auditors, and other stakeholders as required.
Provide oversight and support to the subsidiaries of TransUnion Africa on compliance related matters.
Drive, coordinate and report on compliance activities performed by the compliance liaisons appointed in each African region, including monitoring and compliance audits.
Provide support and guidance on the Issues Management Program and the Enterprise Risk Management Program across TransUnion Africa.
Participate in compliance related system and operations development projects.
Develop and implement compliance self-assessments/audits across business units and regions.
Collaborate with the Legal, Privacy, Data Governance and Corporate Investigations teams on all joint or related matters.
Establish and monitor red flag indicators and metrics for compliance risks.
Ensure systems are in place to detect compliance violations in high-risk, transactional activities.
Evaluate the effectiveness of business unit processes and other controls that exist to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, procedures and global best practice (Compliance Risk Assessment and Control Validation Activities).
Monitor business unit conduct (e.g. for violations of applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures).
Regularly report to Compliance leadership on all compliance risks and related matters.
Compile and submit compliance-related reports to the various regulators as and when required.
Impact You'll Make:
Bachelor's degree or higher in business, pre-law or law, risk management or related field
Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of integrity and professional ethics.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance management software.
Business acumen gained from a minimum of 5 years' work experience in a compliance related field.
This position must be able to explain situations and their implications to all levels of the organisation that may be affected by them.
Ability to write formal policies and procedures as well as routine reports and correspondence..
Proven experience in developing and implementing processes and procedures in a compliance-related field.
Experience in enterprise risk management or internal audit is an advantage.
This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
