Job Description


Purpose and Description of the Job:

  • Management of a number of active construction projects.
  • Full responsibility for all production & labour matters, financial aspects, occupational health and safety and technical problem solving.
  • Responsible for client relations as well as all correspondence and attendance of site meetings.
  • Manage leadership personnel
  • Coordinate resources for projects with the central resource pool of the organisation
  • Contractual management of projects under control and Interaction with the commercial department of commercial and contractual matters
Subordinate positions:
  • Contracts Managers
  • Site Managers / Site Agents
  • Quantity Surveyors
  • Construction Foremen and Surveyors
Minimum Level of Education and Training:
  • Eng Civil Engineering
  • Tech Civil Engineering
  • Tech or Higher National Diploma - Construction Management
  • Sc Construction Management
Requirements
  • Professional Registration with either ECSA or SACPCMP in an appropriate category.
  • A postgraduate or additional management qualification such as CMP attendance would be beneficial
Other requirements (Licence etc.):
  • Vehicle Licence
  • Knowledge of site costing and financial management systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office suite, CCS and Scheduling software
  • Able to travel to sites and spend time on site per the requirements of each project.
