LOCATION: Cape Town.R HIGHLY NEGOTIABLE PLUS ANNUAL PERFORMANCE BONUSOur client is a niche asset manager specialising in private debt. It manages circaR1.4bn in assets, primarily for institutional investors and has a 16 year track record. Theteam current consists of 3 partners / dealmakers and three support staff members. A small team with a big footprint and huge aspirations.As the business is growing, it requires the support of a senior credit analyst. There is scope for this person to grow into an even more senior role, overseeing all credit and risk aspects of the business. So there is succession planning in this business.JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

• You will be required to assist with all aspects of the internal investment processes and the administrative aspects of the fund management process within the business;
• You will be required to focus on all aspects of risk within the funds managed, including credit risk, legal risk, liquidity risk (thus cash flow planning for the funds), ESG requirements and all mandate and regulatory compliance aspects;
• You will be responsible for monitoring all credit exposures on a monthly basis, in the process assessing covenants, analyzing management accounts and monitoring portfolios for expiries, defaults and the like;
• You will be responsible for co-ordinating and assisting completion of monthly risk reports in respect of all funds;
• You will be responsible for monitoring adherence to fund mandates;
• You will be responsible for assisting with completion of forecast cash flows for all funds on a fortnightly basis;
• You will be responsible for assisting with analysis of new proposed loans vetting of credit submissions;
• You will be responsible for monitoring adherence to the investment process by all members of the team;
• You will be responsible for completion of calculations / reports as requested by investors from time to time;
• You will be responsible for assisting with liaising with investors regarding their requirements, if required;
• You will be responsible for attending periodic feedback to investors in respect of fund portfolios.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• You are a CA (SA)
• You have a minimum of 3 years' current, relevant experience in a bank or credit-focused asset manager working either in a credit position or alongside a team of dealmakers;
• You have the ability to analyze corporate credit for mid-sized businesses - this is a big plus.

You have great Excel skills and will be the expert in the area - you need to take this function away from the MD and run with it. You must enjoy working in a small space-with all its positives and some limitations - and be happy and enjoy full autonomy from day one - and not shy away from this.
