Job Description

Our client in the Banking Industry is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to Join their team on a 12 Month Contract. The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on Ab Initio. They will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data infrastructure.Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage scalable data pipelines using Ab Initio.
• Develop ETL processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data from diverse sources.
• Integrate data from multiple sources to establish a cohesive data environment.
• Ensure data quality and consistency across systems.
• Monitor and enhance the performance of data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Implement best practices for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Partner with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements.
• Work with cross-functional teams to enable smooth data integration.
• Identify and resolve data-related issues and inconsistencies.
• Address data-related queries and provide ongoing support.

Non-Negotiables

• Over 5 years of experience in data engineering and ETL development.
• Strong background in Ab Initio, with expertise in developing and managing data pipelines.
• Skilled in SQL and a variety of database technologies.
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies, including Hadoop, Spark, and Hive.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, and data integration best practices
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure
• Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or R
• Knowledge of data governance and security practices
