Position Overview:

Contribute to delivering a very high standard of technical support to Advania's customers that consume our data platforms service

Responsibilities:

You will be required to provide technical support to end users with a focus on data platforms and services. This will include incidents; problems; requests or change control depending on the requirements of any of our customers. You will need to collaborate with your immediate team but also the wider department, with positive communication and sharing of knowledge and information. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as good analytical and technical skills are essential within this role.



Reporting to the Data Platforms Operations Manager, the main duties and responsibilities of this role will include:


Respond appropriately and deal with queries in an effective manner (i.e. punctual; polite and with empathy). Take ownership of incidents or requests allocated to them or the team ticket queue and professionally manage them through to resolution or escalation. Ask targeted questions and apply accurate troubleshooting. Contribute fully as an active team member and ensure personal and team objectives are achieved. Continual mentorship and guidance to more junior members of the Data Platforms team Maintain a professional relationship with clients and peers. Utilise excellent customer service skills and exceed customers' expectations. Report potential client facing risks. Report customer feedback and potential product request. Maintain personal development plan with line manager. Undertake any other tasks as assigned by management. Ensure Service level agreements ("SLA's") are met.

Qualifications & Experience:

Microsoft Azure SQL support knowledge required Strong knowledge of database management systems, such as Microsoft SQL Server Experience deploying SQL Server IaaS, as well as Azure data services components (Azure SQL DB, Managed Instance, Data Factory Proven experience with HA and DR database service technologies available in IaaS and PaaS (Azure based) SQL deployments - specifically AlwaysOn Availability configuration design and implementation, Failover clustering, log shipping, replication etc. Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and optimizing database performance. Develop and implement data security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect sensitive information. Identify and resolve database performance issues, such as slow queries, inefficient indexing, or resource contention. Conduct database capacity planning to anticipate future storage and performance needs. Implement and maintain database monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database systems, including schema, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
Generate regular reports on database performance, usage, and security compliance for management and stakeholders

The budgeted salary for this role is between R55,000 and R65,000 PCM.

Hybrid working:
