Are you a seasoned finance professional looking to make a significant impact? Join a dynamic team as a Senior Deal Originator, where you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing our strategic business objectives. Collaborate with the Head of Client Coverage, take charge of deal origination, build and nurture client partnerships, and develop projects that lead to bankable deals.Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development and implementation of divisional and business unit strategies.
• Identify and prioritize key clients based on financial metrics, revenue potential, and strategic factors.
• Develop a strong pipeline of high-quality investments through proactive origination and sector/country knowledge.
• Build and maintain robust relationships with clients and global/regional private businesses to identify and initiate viable projects.
• Collaborate with the project preparation team to facilitate project scoping, feasibility studies, and business plans.
• Address and eliminate partnership obstacles and inefficiencies; stay informed about new products and services offered by competitors.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of the political landscape of serviced regions/sectors/clients and leverage this knowledge across other areas.
• Build relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders to position our organization as the premier entity for infrastructure development opportunities.
• Continuously research and analyze clients' business contexts, operations, and financial performance to identify new opportunities.
• Engage and collaborate with the organisation's internal network to optimize expertise utilization.
• Provide competitor analysis and understand the operating environment.
• Work closely with the Financing Operations Division to initiate and develop fee income generating projects.
• Prepare documentation and reports for EXCO and Board decision-making as applicable.
• Present at deal Committees as required.

Requirements:

• An Honours degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or Economics.
• 8-10 years of experience in appraising, negotiating, and closing Project Finance, Corporate Finance, or Structured Finance transactions in a financial institution.
• Proven experience in securing infrastructure investment deals in relevant sectors/geographies in South Africa and/or Africa.
