The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional services on projects within the Functional group, including design management and design delivery for projects and managing professional teams of medium/large projects.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the general management of medium/large projectsResponsible for the project management and coordination of multi-disciplinary project teamsLook after budgets, resourcing and outsourcing of project work within the section, as well as agree project budgets with other sections on large projects comprising multi-disciplinary project teamsAuthor competent technical reports, contract documentation including BoQs and specifications of acceptable technical and presentational qualityCheck work of all those in the project team and take responsibility for their workPresent / represent their technical workDraft successful responses to bidsClear knowledge of work procedures and ability to brief project team on themAssign work to othersRegular client contact under direction of more senior managerBuild relationships with clientsSuccessful in identifying and following through on leads associated with additional work prospects on the projects they are involved withClear understanding of local functional business technologies and marketsDiscuss in detail with clients the business technologies and marketsTrain others in respective functional field and build a teamMarket technical capabilitySupervise Engineers or Technicians in undertaking checks and inspections of constructed works for compliance with design and specifications, including monitoring and proposing remedial actionsDevelopment and/or improvement of function group specific design proceduresPlan and coordinate investigations and surveysCoordinate work between functionsRecommended Qualifications, Skills, and ExperienceBachelor of Engineering degree/higher degree from accredited university/college or Bachelor of Technology degreeRelevant Professional Registration with ECSAMinimum 8 years of professional experienceKnowledge of QA and OHS requirementsKnowledge of the commercial aspects of project managementExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to effectively write reports as well as contract documentsCourteous and business orientated manners when communicating with stakeholders to foster and promote good working relationsCo-operative and flexible work style to work in a team environmentAbility to meet deadlines and work under pressureAbility to make technical decisions which are outcome drivenSTRONG ANALYTICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE IN DESIGNWater, sewer, stormwater, roads and related civil infrastructure design (including solid waste):Multi-use developmentsMunicipal servicesCommercial and recreational facilitiesWater, sewer, roads, and stormwaterNetwork modellingNetwork design and clash detectionsDocumentation, BoQ, measurements, specificationsDesign software, drawing softwareBIM and digital deliveryContract managementMust be able to mentor and manage a teamThe ability to manage the teams performance and ensure that the right steps are taken to grow a teamThe ability to communicate clearly across all project disciplinesThe ability to develop and foster good client relationsHow to ApplyAll applications must be submitted online.
