Job Description
An exciting position within BIL in the customs department to draft Customs Bills of Entry in adherence with all relevant legislation, internal and external policies and procedures. Contributes to client satisfaction and legal compliance by successful release of cargo in accordance with Customs and other governmental requirements.
Qualifications & ExperienceQualifications:
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate essential
- Suitable qualification in terms of Customs Tariff Classification and associated General rules of interpretation, methods of valuation (GATT) and rules of origin (Customs Affairs course)
- Incoterms, VAT regulations & other Governmental legislation (Customs Affairs Course)
- 3 - 5 years Customs Experience (particularly Entry drafting)
- Drafting of Imports and Exports customs bills of entry on the CargoWise system.
- Ensure overall accuracy of the draft bill of entry produced.
- Ensuring that the tariff codes and rates are accurately and timeously applied and that the correct duty is processed on the bill of entry.
- Incoterms at an advanced level
- Good knowledge of Customs Tariff Classification Valuation rules and Rules OF Origin.
- Good knowledge of Customs Act and the Rules thereto and all related procedures and documentation.
- Good knowledge of the Air and Sea freight industry
- Knowledge of other governmental acts
