IVANHOE MINES is looking for a Senior Exploration Geologist.Ivanhoe Mines is a leading Canadian mining company committed to becoming a global leader in the supply of critical resources required to transition our world to a low-carbon, renewable future. Ivanhoe is focused on developing and expanding its four principal mining and exploration projects in Southern Africa. The development of the Kamoa-Kakula copper mining complex in the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC), the Platreef palladium-rhodium-platinum-nickel-copper-gold discovery in South Africa, the extensive redevelopment and upgrading of the historic Kipushi zinc-copper-germanium-silver mine, also in the Democratic Republic of Congo and exploration on the Western Foreland, near Kamoa-Kakula.Play your part in our team succeeding...Provide strategic and technical support to the exploration teams across the Ivanhoe Group of Companies, with a particular focus on strata-bound, sediment hosted copper systems where minerals systems approach and basin-scale processes are critical to unlocking exploration success. Working closely with the site Geology teams to ensure that most useful and pertinent information is extracted from existing Ivanhoe exploration data, utilising best practice methods, in line with Ivanhoe organisational and corporate governance standards. With the aim of enhancing Ivanhoes effectiveness of tier one ore discoveries.Requirements:

• BSc Geology, BSc Hons Geology or related qualifications
• Post graduate degree in applied geology
• Valid Drivers License

• 5 years of related industry experience in exploration and mining with at least 3 years of field-based exploration experience
• Experience of developing and mentoring junior geologists and helping them realise their potential
• Sedimentary Hosted Copper Experience
• Preferably Experience of working in the copper belt of either Zambia, DRC or Botswana
• Experience in exploration management and geological interpretation utilizing advanced geological exploration software packages
• Experience of working with structural, geotechnical and geophysics data acquisition and interpretation
• Data analysis and statistical skills

Minimum advanced skills and knowledge in:

• Technical report writing
• Data collection and interpretation
• Quality Assurance

• Geological Interpretation and Modelling
• Mentoring and Training
