This project is a part of one of South Africaxe2x80x99s leading cellular network companyxe2x80x99s strategies to facilitate business and broadband connectivity within South Africa to ultimately assist the company in enabling its consumer and enterprise customers in its Fibre to the Home (FTTH) and Business (FTTB) rollout strategies.DescriptionExperience Requirements:

• Must have 8 to 10 yearsxe2x80x99 minimum work experience as a Fibre Installation Engineer.
• A minimum of 8 to 10 years of work experience must have been obtained within a telecommunications network environment.
• Fibre Optic splicing experience.

Technical Skills:

• This will include the installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of fibre sites and links.
• Documenting and reporting on work completed.
• Maintaining project and safety documentation.
• Wireless Troubleshooting: Signal testing on CPEs, access points, and bandwidth capacity.
• Basic Network Troubleshooting: IP conflicts, firewall issues, and routing issues.
• The cable runs internal and external. Both Network and Fibre cable runs.
• Knowledge of network structures, and crimping.

Minimum RequirementsExtra info:Health & Safety:

• This job will entail travelling to rough terrains at times (including complex roads and mountainsides), travelling to remote areas, working at heights (tower structures and rooftops, etc.), working with heavy machinery and tools, getting exposure to EMF (Electro Magnetic Fields) when working close to antennae for prolonged periods.
• Must be proficient in the use of safety equipment, harnesses, and climbing gear.
• The candidate must be medically fit and able to work at heights. A medical health certificate will be requested before accepting a potential job offer.

Travelling involved:

• This position will require local travelling within the Gauteng area on a daily/weekly basis.
• Petrol will get reimbursed.
• Must have a valid driverxe2x80x99s licence and own a car.

After-hours/overtime:

• Work overtime, weekends, or emergency callouts might be required.
