Your main responsibilities will include - Accurately reconciling statutory financial statements with group GAAP reports, ensuring compliance with local IFRS standards and reviewing and reporting on foreign exchange transactions, providing insights and analysis.This position demands a high level of precision, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of international financial regulations.   • Ensure compliance with statutory accounting and tax requirements in South Africa.
  • Complete monthly accounting activities per the global calendar
  • Facilitate analysis and approval of annual financial statements, tax returns, and compliance reports
  • Reconcile statutory financial statements with group GAAP reports and ensure IFRS compliance
  • Collaborate with local BPOs for compliance management and issue resolution
  • Coordinate the annual financial audit process for local and group audits
  • Provide detailed information for BEE strategic initiatives
  • Handle SARS queries and tax audits to maintain compliance
  • Assist in preparing management reports with financial analysis, variance explanations, forecasts, and KPIs
  • Work with the regional FP&A team to align strategic plans with regional financial and operating plans
  • Manage relationships with local banks and financial institutions
  • Prepare cash flow statements and review foreign exchange transactions
  • Monitor daily cash balances to determine cash requirements
  • Resolve disputes and inquiries from other departments
  • Assist in internal and external audits as neede
  • Collaborate with the direct manager and finance teams, including Shared Service Centers, Revenue Assurance, and Treasury
Job Experience & Skills Required:Qualifications:
  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • BCom Accounting
  • CPA / CFA / CMA preferred
Experience:
  • Completed articles within a BIG 4 audit firm
  • 8 years post articles preferably in an international company
Skills & Competencies:
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Highly inquisitive mindset with an aptitude for numbers
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
