Senior Fire Safety Inspector

Job Description
Responsible for inspecting moderate-risk/multi -use buildings, facilities, and other structures where active and passive fire protection measures are installed to ensure
compliance with the fire safety related standards and Municipal Fire Safety bylaws to preserve life, protect property, and the environment from fire and other dangerous
conditions.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Monitoring compliance with relevant fire safety codes, standards, and Municipal fire safety bylaws through conducting routine fire safety inspections of buildings and facilities.
- Attending to fire safety related complaints or departmental service requests.
- Communicating with the public and creating awareness.
- Enforcing compliance with the fire safety by-laws and relevant National Standards/Regulations relating to fire safety.
- Performing administrative duties through organizing and maintaining records of inspection findings, and documentation.

- Peace Officer Certificate.
- 3 Years relevant experience.

3. Must be physically capable of performing the functions of the post.
Preferred Requirements
- Higher Certificate in Fire Technology (NQF Level 5).
- 4 Years relevant experience.
