Role Purpose


As a Senior Group Operational Risk Manager, you will be a key player in shaping our organisation's operational risk and resilience strategy. Working closely with diverse teams, including forensics, risk technology, and divisional risk teams, you will lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge frameworks that ensure we stay ahead of the ever-evolving risk landscape.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to influence and embed innovative risk management solutions across the Group. You will also provide oversight of 3rd Party Risk Management and collaborate on projects that enhance our operational resilience capabilities. Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



Minimum 10 years of experience in core Operational Risk Management, with at least 3 years in a senior role
A degree in business or risk management
Proven ability to engage with multiple stakeholders, lead cross-functional teams, and develop innovative solutions
Strong knowledge of operational risk regulation, industry standards, and insurance legislation

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS





Knowledge of Insurance Legislation
Knowledge of the risk environment and Risk management
Knowledge of risk regulation and industry standards



Duties & Responsibilities

INTERNAL PROCESS:



Operational Risk Framework

: Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Group's Operational and Resilience Risk Framework. This includes integrating risk management tools, processes, and policies across departments, ensuring that all business units are aligned with Group standards.

Risk Technology Solutions

: Collaborate with the Risk Technology and Forensics teams to implement advanced analytics and automation tools that enhance the operational risk management process. Drive innovation to ensure that traditional risk management practices are supplemented with cutting-edge solutions.

Regulatory Reporting

: Ensure the delivery of accurate and timely regulatory reports related to Operational Risk and 3rd Party Risk Management. Coordinate with business units to compile comprehensive reports for both internal risk forums and external regulators.

Governance and Assurance

: Participate in the Group's Combined Assurance Forums and contribute to assurance activities. Ensure compliance with Group policies, standards, and guidelines, while maintaining oversight of key risk areas and escalating material concerns when necessary.

CLIENT PROCESS:



Risk Advisory and Support

: Provide advisory services to business units, ensuring they have the necessary frameworks, guidelines, and solutions for managing operational and 3rd Party risks. Offer training and guidance to improve their understanding and implementation of risk management practices.

Operational Resilience Best Practices

: Work with clients, including internal divisions and external stakeholders, to embed best practices in operational resilience. Lead deep-dive exercises and lessons-learned reviews to improve risk management processes and strategies.

Client Collaboration

: Collaborate with other non-financial risk teams (Compliance, Forensics, IT, etc.) to ensure clients are well-supported in their operational risk and resilience efforts. Promote a strong risk culture that fosters proactive and transparent communication with clients and stakeholders.

PEOPLE PROCESS:



Team Leadership and Collaboration

: Act as a key leader within the Group's Operational Risk team, providing guidance and coaching to risk managers across business units. Ensure that teams are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to maintain and mature the Group's risk management capabilities.

Training and Development

: Provide training and thought leadership on risk management frameworks, policies, and methodologies. Support the professional development of team members through workshops, seminars, and ongoing coaching.

Cultural Engagement

: Drive the development of a risk-aware culture across the Group by fostering open dialogue and promoting the importance of operational risk management. Ensure that all employees understand the value of risk management and feel empowered to engage with risk-related processes.
