Job Purpose:The HR Lead plays a critical role in shaping human resources strategy, fostering a high-performing culture, and ensuring effective people management. This role requires strategic HR leadership, operational execution, and strong interpersonal skills to drive talent management, employee engagement, and compliance with relevant labour laws and regulations.The HR Lead will guide senior executives on HR strategies, policies, and best practices, ensuring alignment with business goals while managing an HR team that delivers on key workforce initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Strategic HR Planning:

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures aligned with business objectives and legal requirements.
  • Drive workforce planning, talent acquisition, and retention strategies.
  • Implement HR metrics and analytics to support strategic decision-making.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to enhance HR effectiveness.
Talent Acquisition & Development:
  • Collaborate with recruitment teams to source and hire top talent.
  • Ensure structured interview processes and effective onboarding programs.
  • Develop a robust talent pipeline in line with business objectives.
  • Drive performance measurements for talent acquisition and retention.
  • Coordinate training and development programs to enhance employee skills.
Employee Relations & Workplace Culture:
  • Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Provide guidance on workplace disputes and dispute resolution strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate transactions, including legal transfers (e.g., Section 189 and 197 LRA cases).
  • Foster a healthy work environment that promotes company values and objectives.
  • Support initiatives that build an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing workforce.
Compliance & Benefits Administration:
  • Ensure HR administrative processes are efficient and aligned with employee needs.
  • Oversee benefits administration and employee experience programs.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and industry regulations.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and prepare reports for compliance and business insights.
Leadership & Communication:
  • Provide HR leadership and strategic guidance to management and teams.
  • Serve as the key advisor to executives on HR-related matters.
  • Foster trust and positive relationships within the organization.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels of management.
Risk Management & Cost Control:
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, HR best practices, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor HR costs and recruitment needs within budget constraints.
  • Optimize HR processes for efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support financial risk management in relation to remuneration policies and HR cost structures.

  • Ability to manage multiple HR initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong prioritization skills to handle urgent HR matters and long-term projects.
Adaptability & Resilience:
  • Capability to adjust quickly and effectively to changing business needs.
  • Ability to remain calm and solution-focused in high-pressure situations.
Working Conditions:
  • Office-based role with potential travel to oversee regional HR operations.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when required.
Minimum Requirements:Education:
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Honours degree is advantageous.
Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years of HR management experience, with direct executive-level liaison.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an international or multi-regional HR role, including Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.
  • Proven track record in leading HR teams across multiple countries and regions.
  • Strong leadership experience in managing geographically dispersed teams of HR professionals.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
  • In-depth understanding of employment laws and regulations, particularly across Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS software, Microsoft Office Suite, and HR analytics tools.
  • Business and financial acumen, with experience in remuneration structures, benefits administration, and cost control.
  • Expertise in HR strategy development, workforce planning, and talent management.
  • Ability to navigate complex HR challenges, ensuring compliance and alignment with global HR standards.
