Senior Industry Technology Specialist



Summary:


1) Meet account sales targets and support Industry targets


2)Pursue business development opportunities with increased Customer Centricity, contribute actively with input for continuous product, tool & service development


3)Optimizing value of our technical solutions by driving the opportunity pipeline filling and maintenance, together


with the Account Managers to ensure consistent growth in the industry of responsibility, as per Business targets


4)Develop technical solutions for our customers within the specified requirements of time, cost window, and quality, and be responsible for that


5)Identify and solve complex technical issues of customers and find a way for introducing and implementing our solutions for business growth


6)Troubleshooting customer's technical issues by developing biotechnology solutions in brewing industry


7)Build industry knowledge and support the business


8)resent Novonesis towards customers and other stake- holders on technical and/or project issues in brewing industry teams and the Technical service teams to develop expertise as per market needs/trends


9) Conduct/supervise own lab-work in Johannesburg to meet customer and project expectations


10) Actively reaching our within the global TS and R&D community to take advantage of global organization




In this role you'll make an impact by:





Pursuing business development opportunities with customer centricity in brewing industry in Africa


Troubleshooting customer's technical issues by developing biotechnology solutions responding to market and customer needs/expectations


Building brewing industry knowledge in Africa and support commercial and technical teams to develop expertise as per market needs/trends


Conducting/supervising own lab-work in Johannesburg to meet customer and project expectations




To succeed you must hold:



1) MSc (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Food Science or related field) + a recognized Brewing qualification (IBD Diploma In Brewing or equivalent).


2) Experience: 3+ years in the brewing or beverage industry, with a focus on fermentation or brewing processes. Hands on brewing experience is preferred.


In addition, the following attributes apply:


Customer Focused: Strong commitment to understanding customer needs and delivering results. Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose production issues and recommend effective solutions. Project Management: Experience leading technical projects from start to finish, including managing trials, testing, and process optimization. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Relationship Building: Ability to build strong relationships with customers and provide clear guidance. Team Collaboration: Comfortable working in cross-functional teams (sales, R&D, production) and collaborating with internal and global teams. Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel frequently (up to 50%) within Africa to meet with customers and support projects Experience with industrial application of biosolutions i.e. enzymatic and microbial technologies Experience in guiding and advising clients on technical solutions are highly preferred.
Master of Science in brewing, have a brew meister degree in combination with significant relevant experience minimum of 5 years in brewing African context. Customer oriented focus with good technical understanding Strong communication and networking skills A proven record for high level impact within relevant industry technology or biotechnology in general Ability to travel Monday through Friday depending on customer needs and expectations
