Job Purpose
To provide technical support to lecturers during classes by making sure that equipment and materials are ready.


Assist learners on a one-to-one basis with their projects.


To ensure that machines are functional at all times and that they are serviced and are well maintained to ensure smooth running of classes.



Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Matric (Grade 12) At least two (2) years' relevant experience working in the Jewellery Design field and/or industry Knowledge of Jewellery design and manufacture processes. In depth knowledge of Jewellery design tools and equipment.

A National Diploma in Jewellery Design and Manufacture Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
Prepare instructional equipment and material for practical classes Assist learners with the usage of equipment during and outside classes Provide technical support to staff and students as and when required to ensure the smooth running of the workshop Ensure that equipment is functional - Clean and maintain all tools and equipment and ensure that it is ready for classes Carrying out maintenance of tools and equipment Do minor repairs and operating adjustments Plan purchasing of material Checks stock levels of material and make out requests for new stock Keep record of stock for the studio and workshop Issuing, recovery and safekeeping of equipment General housekeeping - clean and pack equipment before and after classes. Adhere to health and safety rules and regulations Compile H&S reports Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Line Manager
